  • Color: Hale Mercantile linen is prewashed and softened to achieve a naturally aged patina. Color within any one article can be muted in places as a result. This is not a fault in our linen. It is done with intention to achieve our relaxed, aged style.
  • Color Variation in Dye Lot: Depending on availability, the European flax used to spin our yarns can vary from the grower. This can at times affect the dye lot within our yarns. Dye lot variation is common in processing natural fibers. Hale works to avoid this there can at times be variances to any color within the range.
  • Avoid exposure to continual sunlight
  • Wash on a gentle, warm cycle with like colors
  • Do not to use bleach or detergents that contain optical brighteners 
  • Best if mild liquid detergent such as a wool wash is used
  • Hale's has been pre-washed at very high temperatures to ensure that with proper care no further shrinkage should occur.
  • Can be tumble-dried safely on low heat to keep your linen soft and maintain its shape and textural appeal
  • Wash your blankets and ensure they are completely dry before packing them away for storage
