The Postal Backpack No. 1 is inspired by 19th-century US postal bags that were attached to cranes near trains, ready to be picked up by passing trains. Created from 2.2mm water-resistant Italian leather, this backpack is carefully chosen for optimal density, strength, and softness. The color of the bag will deepen with exposure to snow, rain, and sun. Over time, the leather will soften with frequent use. Hand-tooled and manufactured in limited batches, the solid brass closure is sourced from a small foundry in England.

  • Measures approx. 17" L x 12" W x 4” D
  • Weighs 2.5 lbs
  • Leather will patina and soften with use.
  • Interior divider (fits a 13" Macbook Pro), a large zippered pocket (10" x 12") with a convenient brass key-hook.
  • The bag is adjustable in size with the brass slide on the front. This way a 15" laptop will fit easily into the main compartment.
  • A small zippered pocket on the back panel allows security and easy access to your wallet or phone (fits an iPhone 10+).
  • Handmade in Spain
  • The best way to care for vegetable-tanned leather is continued use
  • However, using mink or neatsfoot oil can help maintain the condition of the leather over time
  • Never use vegetable or cooking oil
