Designer Profile

Lesley Anton

Lesley Anton, a ceramic artist located in Atlanta, Georgia, has been handmaking functional pottery since 2001. Initially starting with handmade ceramic lighting pieces such as lamps, her work has expanded into complete lines of functional works. Anton aims to produce functional art that evokes the essence of historic, often ordinary, utilitarian ware, utilizing rich, variegated glaze palettes accentuated by deep black stoneware. A distinctive feature of her functional creations is the visibility of her fingerprints within the glaze. She intentionally allows this mark of the hand to be present in as many pieces as possible to inspire a sense of timelessness.
